Membership Types
We have three different memberships at QSEC.
There are diverse legal structures within the social enterprise sector and many different service providers that support the social enterprise sector as well, this has led us to create three different types of membership and different tiers beneath those based on the size of the enterprise.
Our three different types of membership are: Industry, Associate and Youth.
Beneath each tier is membership level based on entity size and turnover.

Industry Member
For social enterprises and social entrepreneurs.

Industry
A social enterprise is a business that puts people and planet first. They trade like any other business, but exist specifically to make the world a better place. It has an social and/or environmental mission embedded in the DNA of the business; derives a majority of its revenue through trade rather than through grants, donations or gifts, and; reinvests a substantial portion of profit and resources back into their mission and impact model.
Start-up
$100 + GST / per year
Start-up social enterprises in their early stages of trade, with revenue under 500K per annum.
Scale-up
$250 + GST / per year
Scale-up social enterprises that have been trading for over 12 months, with revenue between 500K – 2M annually.
Tier 1
For social enterprises that turnover between $2M and $5M per annum.
Tier 2
For social enterprises that turnover between $5M and $10M per annum.
Tier 3
For social enterprises with a turnover of $10M + per annum.
Associate
Associate members are not social enterprises or businesses on the journey of becoming a social enterprise; they are businesses, individuals, government and/or industry bodies that support the social enterprise sector and want to stay updated and included in sector discussions and events.
Associate members can also include charities, not-for-profits and philanthropic foundations that do not trade goods or services but exist to make the world a better place.
Individual / Sole Trader / Small Businesses
$100 + GST / per year
Individuals, sole traders, and small businesses with revenue under $500K per annum.

Large
Youth / Student
A Youth Member is a social entrepreneur, social enterprise, associate or sole trader with a founder(s) under the age of 21 years. Youth Social Enterprise members receive the same membership benefits as the equivalent tier of social enterprise or associate membership. Tailored mentoring and support programs for this membership tier exist to foster sustainable and thriving business for a good ecosystem.
Youth / Student
FREE
A social enterprise, individual or business with a founder(s) aged under 21 years old.
