Lord Mayor’s Better Suburbs Grants

As the COVID-19 pandemic and snap lockdowns continue to affect our community, Brisbane City Council has launched the new $3 million Lord Mayor’s Better Suburbs Grants to support community and sporting groups across the city.

Not-for-profit community organisations can apply for grants to help maintain and improve community facilities and deliver activities. The program is faster and more flexible to apply for and features two categories.

Community Support category

The Community Support category will support projects that respond to local community needs, improve community facilities and build organisational capacity. These grants will be up to a maximum value of $10,000 (GST exclusive) each. They will remain open until all available funds have been expended.

Community Facility category

The Community Facility category will provide funding to improve, develop and maintain community facilities. These grants will be up to a maximum value of $200,000 (GST exclusive) each. They will be open year-round and will be assessed twice each year.

More information

Applications for the grants open on Monday 30 August. You can start preparing your application by viewing the grant guidelines on Brisbane City Council’s website.
